Not repaying evil for evil is hard, but not near as hard as the rest of the story. Don’t repay evil for evil; rather, repay evil with good.

God's mercy demands our sacrifice. God's grace demands we give ourselves totally to each others by using our gifts, talents, skills, etc to serve each other. Live sent and live to serve.

What is genuine love?

Just like a body, the church is made up of members empowered with different skills and gifts to share the gospel and serve the saints. Our mission is to take the gospel to every nation so people will be saved. To succeed, every member must work together properly.

The key to overcoming sin and being obedient is to change how you think.

When we think deeply about the depths of the riches of God and what that means for our life we should break into worship, not just on Sundays but everyday. This should cause our perspective to shift about who we are in Christ.

Sometimes we need to be reminded: God is God and I’m not.

God ordains history and moves it according to His sovereign purpose through humans who make choices for which we are responsible.

Grace changes everything. Grace should make us humble; not proud and arrogant.

SUMMARY

God’s sovereignty over salvation does not nullify man’s responsibility.

Before people can believe, they have to know what to believe. Someone has to tell them. That’s why we’re a sending church.

Those who truly believe will loudly confess.

God doesn’t have to put us in paradise to fulfill His promises.

Until sin is bitter, Christ won't be sweet.

If you’re at peace with sin, you’re at war with God.

Moses slows his roll to help us take in the importance of what’s happening and be forever marked by its eternal significance.

God’s sovereignty doesn’t violate our will. They aren’t enemies. Everybody has the opportunity to respond but only the conviction of the Holy Spirit effectively opens our eyes to see. The fact that God doesn’t do that for everybody is a mystery, but it isn’t unfair. What’s unfair, really is that He does it for anybody.

God’s sovereignty doesn’t undercut our responsibility, it establishes it.

The plagues in Exodus were meant to humiliate Egyptian false gods and make it clear that to fear the Lord is to hear His word and obey; to not fear Him is to hear His word but ignore it.
